Lisa Rinna: from Model to Star
For those familiar with the modeling world, we’re sure you’ve heard of the Wilhelmina agency, one of the more prestigious agencies in the world today. Well, that’s where Lisa Rinna first displayed her looks and figure and her many talents. She was born on July 11, 1963 in Oregon and attended the University of Oregon. When she graduated, she moved to Los Angeles and started working for the Wilhemina Agency. She landed a part in Melrose Place in 1996 and also appeared in Days of Our Lives. Days of our Lives was a long-running daytime drama after which she joined Aaron Spelling for Melrose Place that ran for two years. She was also cast in several roles in made-for-TV films such as Night Sins, Winter Heat, Sex, Lies and Obsession and others.
Lisa Rinna has made a successful transition from modeling to acting so that by the time she was co-hosting the talk show “Soap Talk” and hosted the 2004 Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, you could safely conclude that she “had it made”. She was also offered to host the popular series “Merge” focused on home decoration and improvement. Fans saw a much more beautiful and warmer personality.
Lisa has had a sustained presence and durability in television. She is at ease whether portraying a good mother or an intolerable hyper personality. She is popular among the Gen X crowd and that popularity had roots in her television appearances in Melrose Place. In 1997, she married Harry Hamlin, the famous LA law star, and together the couple starred in the television series, Sex, Lies and Obsession. That was in 2001. And then Rina returned to Days of our Lives and was welcomed back by the old gang. She has maintained her visibility in shows that included Veronica Mars and 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. She also had a recurring role in the Valerie Harper sitcom which was short-lived.
Lisa and Harry have two daughters, Delilah and Amelia. While pregnant with Delilah, she posed for Playboy Magazine. She leads a busy life as wife, mother, actress and woman-about-town.
